2/15/2025 – We’re Growing—And Looking for Our Next Unicorn!

Big news at High Country Vet: we’re expanding our team! That’s right—we’re on the hunt for a Veterinary Technician (or Assistant) to join us and help keep things running smoothly as we care for the incredible horses in our community.

If you’ve worked with us before, you know we’re not your average equine practice. We’re a tight-knit crew that believes in doing things the right way, working together, and having a little fun along the way. Open communication and genuine teamwork are the foundation of everything we do, and we take pride in fostering a supportive environment where everyone feels valued.

This role is all about keeping the practice organized and efficient while working hands-on with patients. Think prepping for procedures, handling horses, administering treatments, and keeping our trucks stocked and ready for anything. It’s dynamic, fast-paced, and (let’s be honest) occasionally a little chaotic, but that’s what makes it exciting!

We’re looking for someone who not only loves horses but thrives in a collaborative, detail-oriented environment. This isn’t just a job; it’s a chance to become part of a team that’s passionate about delivering the best care to our patients while supporting each other along the way.

Why Now?

As we’ve grown, so has the demand for exceptional equine care in Steamboat Springs and the surrounding area. Our clients, whether they’re ranchers, competitors, folks with retired pasture pets, and everyone in between, are the best around, and we’re committed to meeting their needs with the level of excellence they’ve come to expect from us. To do that, we need to expand our team with someone who’s ready to bring their expertise and passion to the table.

What’s in It for You?

Beyond joining a great team, we offer competitive pay, benefits (like PTO, a retirement match, and healthcare perks), and a work environment where your skills are valued and your growth is a priority. Plus, you’ll get to work with a diverse range of clients and horses and never have the same day twice.

If this sounds like the kind of place you’d love to work—or if you know someone who’d be a perfect fit—send us an email at jobs@highcountryvet.com to learn more. We can’t wait to welcome our next teammate!

Here’s to growing our team and continuing to provide the best equine care around.
